In the EXCEL 1100, surface dirt and contamination such as splicing debris are first removed by a series of four molded polymer particulate transfer rollers. The film is then thoroughly cleaned by means of four softnap rotary buffers wetted with ozone-safe isopropanol. Cleaning liquid flow is adjustable, so that even films that are heavily soiled can be quickly and effectively returned to optimum condition.
Following the wet station, the film is carefully polished, transported through a time-proven heated air impingement tower for thorough drying, and then passed over two additional polymer rollers prior to takeup winding.
The EXCEL 1100 is operator friendly, with straight line threading. Cleaning mechanisms automatically engage at startup. Controls are located at eye level. All functions are under microprocessor control. The compact machine occupies less than 6 square feet of floor space and operates at 115 volts (220 volts optional).
The EXCEL 1100 is designed for use in film laboratories, film-to-tape transfer facilities and other applications where the more sophisticated solvent-based film cleaning method is not required.
The EXCEL 1100 advanced technology may be factory retrofitted to previous EXCEL models.
